The 1st House
The first house is all about you. Ruled by Aries and Mars and starting with your ascendant on the first house cusp, you can determine quite a bit about yourself from looking at the first house. Physical things about you such as what you look like, how thin or fat you are, how tall or short you are can be derived here. Other physical attributes like how you carry yourself and the way you act are also prominent features of this house.
In addition to many physical descriptors, the first house also carries with it many personality aspects to it. Are you easy to get along with or do you tend to be shy? The first house is definitely all about you. Or is it? The first house more accurately would be what other people see when they see you. It is not what you think of yourself. It is others’ perception of what you are, what they see in you and what you choose to show them.
The first house represents the early stages of new beginnings, such as early childhood or new changes in one’s life. It is very much about how one will eventually develop. It is about the path that we choose to walk down in our lives.
