The path of mental expansion begins here and this house pertains to fields such as philosophy and theology. Religious influences can be seen here. Mental expansion is a big theme here and because of that much of that which we do not know is ruled by this house. Long journeys and the means to go on them are under this house. Other types of explorative energies are seen here. The ninth house also rules things of a foreign nature.
Things of the abstract come into play here, and often our dreams are affected here. Prophetic images and psychic energy is shown in this house. Lastly this house is also thought to be the house of grandchildren, being the fifth house from the fifth house.
