If you want others to know where you're coming from, then you have to express it. You can't worry too much about others are going to respond though, because they can be oppositional from the start. This can make it tougher to get along with groups, especially ones you haven't fully integrated into yet. But you also have to wonder if whether entering a group you share much opposition with is worth joining. You might want to be in for all of the wrong reasons.
