There can be a lot of misinformation floating around, which can lead us astray if we blindly believe what others are telling us. Use your own eyes and always seek to back things up with facts and proof. If you can't validate something, don't assume it's true. You might find there's some agreements where you haven't fully taken care of your end of the deal (and now have to rush to do so), and newly negotiated agreements can have unclear terms and warrant rechecking them. It's more legwork, but it will create problems down the road if you're lazy about thing, so do your best to stay on top of what's needed by all parties in any arrangements you're a part of.
