If you were following me, (and most would have given up by now as I just traveled 1500 miles in a little over 2 days) then you'll know that I'm up in the Canadian Wilderness of Northern Ontario where I've vacationed with my family since I was born....in fact, my great grandfather started coming here in 1932, bringing my grandfather with him, traveling from Buffalo, N.Y. to a land without electricity, or water. This place is Rustic, beautiful, and loaded with memories....

Wait- there's a point!

While it's not necessarily what inspired the piece below, it fits. Sometimes a ride down into the Missing Well comes without warning....

"The Missing Well. Beyond a certain age we all begin to accept our ownership of an internal place I think of as the Missing Well. Everyone will fill one over the course of their life. The Well comes into being when we reach the age where memory becomes a rooted place. It’s spotty in a 3 year old, but becomes reasonably solid somewhere around age 5 or 6. The Missing Well is a special place in heart and mind, it is filled with, and dedicated to, all the Loved and Lost of our lives. Its waters rise in fits and starts at the whim of fate and are filled with cherished pets, dear friends, and beloved family members who have entered the Light. It is not affected by time, for though we may acclimate to grief and our changed reality, we never fully leave behind a longing for the errant Missing. The Missing Well is filled with the tears and pain experienced with successive loss, an unavoidable part of the human experience. The Well can surge into our consciousness at odd moments, sometimes for no discernible reason. Like a spring that never runs dry, it does not diminish through time or run dry over the years.

When the Well is your companion, please remember this: As is true of any well, the waters of the Missing Well are deep and cool, offering a source of comfort, a place to slake our thirst. It is a place where we can draw a bucket of remembrance, awash in beautiful memories and comforted by the knowledge that love never dies. When the Missing Well appears in your life, I hope you will look into its depths and rejoice at the abundance of love with which it is filled. God’s peace be with you." -My MOM

Daily Tao

There is something formlessly created
Born before Heaven and Earth
So silent! So ethereal!
Independent and changeless
Circulating and ceaseless
It can be regarded as the mother of the world

I do not know its name
Identifying it, I call it "Tao"
Forced to describe it, I call it great
Great means passing
Passing means receding
Receding means returning
Therefore the Tao is great
Heaven is great
Earth is great
The sovereign is also great

Humans follow the laws of Earth
