The problem with this is we're likely to face a lot of resistance when we do try to do things differently. The external pressures in our lives try to push us back into line, because it's often easier for others to deal with you when you're acting consistent to how you always have.

Breaking free from the mold can be tough, and it's not always going to be for everyone here. People will tend to get more agitated when they feel as though they have something to protect, and you might have to deal with some aggression from people who are afraid of losing something important to them. So with that in mind, you want to tread carefully. You might need to keep your own defenses up as well, though you shouldn't go out there trying to initiate conflict unless there's something immediate you find threatening.
