When this is the case, many will choose to “push even harder”, but they’re still likely to make little to no progress at all.

Knowing this, you need to be smarter about how you apply your energy. Trying to speed things up is likely to be in vain, so you need to really be patient and find ways to grit it out. At the same time, this energy is of the sort that is going to cause some to press their luck, so you also have to be aware of others who might be acting recklessly. A common problem can be making things that can wait a short period so essential that you have to complete them now. That’s where so many people are going to get into trouble. So assess where you have some leeway to work with and if you have it, don’t be afraid to use it.

While some of the situations you’ll face might seem intense, in the grand scheme of things they won’t be as huge, so try to avoid making things out to be more than they really are. If you keep everything in proper perspective, you should be alright. This won’t ensure others will do the same (so you might have to temper their own expectations in the process), but you can only control so much, so do your best. Best of luck.

So it’s important to keep a little in the gas tank and to schedule periods where you can rest for a little bit. Thinking your schedule out beforehand can allow you to do the things you want to do most, while fitting lesser goals in when you feel up to it.
