The crux of today’s energy is all about misconceptions. We’re going to think things are operating one way, when in reality they’re operating another. So it’s very important you strip assumptions out of the equation. If you don’t know something for sure, ask, and if you don’t get a response, ask again. The more you seek out confirmation of things, the more you cover your own ass in case something goes awry (which is highly possible).

Interactions with people can be weird because of this as well. This is when character flaws tend to surface that change the way you see people, or conversely, where you can completely ignore things that are obvious to others. “You know, Laura. Your new boyfriend looks just like the guy who robbed the bank yesterday.” “No, it couldn’t be him.” So try to be a little less accepting of everything, realize that you’re probably only seeing things from an obscured viewpoint, and don’t make any decisions that are too finalized because the scope of things is likely to change again once you’re thinking clearly again. All of this will help you save the thousands of dollars you were going to invest in Pogs “because they will be a collector’s item” or from shacking up with guys who think they look good in ski masks.
