The tides of time ebb and flow and we push onward. Today’s energy it’s going to seem positive in the light of recent events going on in each of our lives. Within a lot of people, there’s some form of inner tumult, some place they’d rather be, things they want to see happen. This manifests more often than not in the political thoughts and beliefs department, but can extend to other areas. You look at the people fed up with any number of the current outrages out there (and there seem to be many these days). The intentions might be good and noble, but people get so caught up in “This needs to happen through any means possible,” that the means might completely annihilate any progress you would’ve stood to make in the first place. These are the tides.

The positive thing about today’s energy though is it forces people to look at what they’re doing in a sense of how it might affect others (something that’s mindnumbingly uncommon on the internet these days). Because as much as people might want to be right, and “progressive”, self-held beliefs don’t always carry the same weight when you have to look at things from someone else’s shoes. The things you’re adamant about when you’re posting memes on Facebook don’t seem as ironclad when you walk a path through how it’s affected someone else’s life. We’re in an age where people crave self-validation. We celebrate political victories like we celebrate our sports teams winning. No one likes the feeling of messing something up, being proven wrong, seeing setbacks in something they hold true to their core. But this world will always reward those who fail, who struggle, who are willing to admit they were wrong, as long as they learn and grow from their experiences.

As you go through your day, through a desire to maintain harmony within your relationships with others, you might discover some places where your beliefs have been taken to extremes, some spots where your arguments just don’t apply to someone in a different situation. You might have to accept blame for something you did poorly, or something you were wrong about. And in the end, you will be a better person for it. Sometimes it’s the tides that push us backwards that give us a broader viewpoint and let us refocus on where we’re really trying to get to. Best of luck.

The impetus here is to try to change situations so they’re more comfortable for you. But it’s a two-way street and you’d be wise to recognize that as much as you might want to force others/situations to adapt to you, more often than not it’s easier to just make the changes internally and adapt yourself. If you’re content to try and wait until everything comes around your way, it might be a long while. So be active and look for ways to better immerse yourself in a situation – this willingness allows your comfort levels to rise.
