Today I Start my Life Anew..!!
The Song of the Week... "When I was Young"... Probably one of my all time favorite songs... I was just a kid, but my Mom would be iron'ing in the kitchen... And this song would play on the radio... There was a lot of stuff goin' on in the news... (like now)... And I knew she was scared.
A few years ago... There would be concerts 'downtown' every thursday night... The girls drifted off in order to find 'tasty snacks'... So I light a cigar and I am standin'by a small fence near the stage... This gray haired guy is standing there... Lights a 'ciggy' and we start talkin'... He asks me about the 'Animals' songs and I tell him the story 'bout my Mom and me dancin' like idiots in our kitchen... It was a scary time back then... Next thing I know, the guy is up on the stage... Says this isn't part of our usual set and played 'when I was young'.
Sometimes it's the little things that make all the difference...
