It's very much "checks and balances" - when things get tough, you'll tend to find support, and when things go well, something can come along to keep you humble. You really need to ride the wave because there can be some ups and downs, and keep your perspective because things can change rapidly, even your feelings about situations you're in.
On an individual level, we can be looking for a larger impact in the world around us, and to expand upon our possibilities and potentials.
