I went to a party with my cousin for Memorial Day, thrown by a guy he works with. While the party in and of itself was a good time, there were some younger girls there who weren't, shall we say, adept at handling the booze intake that some of the older, more experienced drinkers were used to. More than once I heard the comment, "Are we back in high school?" uttered to describe their behavior. One shouldn't look at a younger person and despise mistakes they make, for we were all younger once and in a similar position. But it's hard to see the flaws and not say "I could see it coming from a mile away" when those mistakes are made.
The energy right now is going to put people in these types of situations, where contrasting levels of maturity are an issue. So try to show a little lenience as everyone has to learn from their own mistakes at times. In the meantime, you should try to find similar minded people to band together with so you have someone you can relate to without it going entirely over their heads. Best of luck.

Others can be rather clingy today and it can truly be hard for you to break away when it's clear that if you are somewhere else, you will be better off. There are opportunities out there for you to take advantage of that others can literally choke you out of (because you don't want to be the bad guy and say, "Look you're keeping me from doing this awesome thing.") But it might take a little bluntness to get the point across. Don't feel any guilt if you must be that way; it's your time and you should utilize it in the way you feel best.
