Daily Horoscope for Gemini Summary

On the way home today, I had a discussion with my buddy Markquis on the effect of relativity in competition and its effects on a person's development. People need to be pushed, challenged to dig deep in order to reach higher levels. If you practice doing something, say for instance, lifting 140 lbs., over and over again, you might get really good at lifting 140 lbs. but you won't be in any shape to lift 300 lbs. At some point you need to challenge yourself in more difficult scenarios in order to get better.

The same works with people. If you're 6 foot 3 and you play basketball against little kids all the time, you're not developing your skills. You need to play against people who will actually defend you and force you to adapt in order to find success, and then subsequently growth.

Those are physical examples but the same goes for the mental side of things as well. If you learn the same subject material over and over again, you can become quite adept with it, but unless you try to learn more advanced material or more advanced techniques, your learning will stagnate.

This brings us to the chart energy for the weekend. At first glance, this energy would seem “tough”. Chiron's involved which usually requires us to get knocked down before we get back up again. It represents the challenges we're likely to face right now. It's hooking up with Neptune (which makes this a largely mental transit), which will strengthen our ability to arise from our shortcomings and make the adaptations necessary to progress. Both are connecting to the Sun in a manner that will take a lot of the “initiation” issues out of our hands; the Universe is going to put us into these situations rather than us having to find a way to cause them ourselves.

You put it altogether and we're likely to get thrown into some “rough” spots, that might be briefly uncomfortable, but are designed to get us past certain hurdles we've been letting hold us back. Sometimes the universe has to pinch us to make its points, but a pinch is usually sharp, brief and before long, we've forgotten the sting. When all is said and done, if you can manage to face some of your flaws or mental hang-ups, this energy will lift you up. But if you try to evade such things, they'll linger and you won't move past them. Dig deep and show some adaptability. Best of luck.

Some of your friendships might end up on edge here because you are prone to saying things that might be moderately offensive (without even realizing it). There are deeper disconnects between some people and you though, and it's these “offensive” comments that can flush bigger issues out of hiding so that you can deal with them. In the end, any tiffs you can end up in here will tend to be settled without much fanfare and can serve to build stronger relationships.
