Happy New Year!
The Thursday positioning of New Year's Eve sets up nicely for a long weekend, one that will see the intensification of the Venus-Sun-Mercury energy. There might be some general quirkiness that occurs in your relationships here, but any miscommunication can usually be written off and laughed about in retrospect. Above all though, this is where relationships can become much tighter in the sense that we're going to be looking to seek out ways in which we can fulfill the needs of others. Our bonds can grow very strong here, but it's usually going to come about in a "functional" type way. People are going to try and prove they are indispensable as allies. This will make it a great time for forging new partnerships and doing things collectively to further greater financial goals. And with potential gaffes involving communication being ironed out early, this can also pave the way for stronger communication with others down the road. Good times.
While the romantic side of things isn't always going to steam up the joint, it will improve relatively. Whether you're looking to get a little closer with your partner, muse or Fred who mops aisle 4 at Walmart, the key here is appreciation. You can work your way into the hearts of others through little lines like, "That turned out well. You did a nice job on that." People are going to love recognition for their actions here. With a lot of people hardwired to work their asses off (and a general dearth of motivation to keep them going from day to day due to Mars retro), paying them a little attention is an extremely endearing factor. Don't smother people (after all, they will still be thinking "Accomplish goals first, everything else second"), but if they get a free moment, hit them with a barrage of compliments.
And with that, we enter 2010. Expect some new stuff from the site in the upcoming year, including another cosmetic redesign which Daniel has already hinted at. For the most part, you're still going to be in a bit of the know-it-all mindset. One thing you will notice though (that can definitely work to your benefit) is how quickly you can back down from this thinking if someone proves their mental worthiness to you. As much as you want others to recognize you intellectually here, hidden below the surface (i.e. something others won't generally pick up on) you're still going to have this great zeal for learning. To boil it all down, you might come across as a bit boorish to others until someone puts you in your place, at which point you can beg them to become your mentor.
