Daily Horoscope for Gemini Summary

September 8, 2011. To be honest, it's been a day I've been anxious about for a few years now, and yet we steamroll into it as time knows nothing else but to march onward. Most will call it Thursday, but for me it's the 30th birthday. For some reason I've given more weight to this one than all of the other big ones like 16, 18 and 21. It's kind of a time for assessment I suppose, where I can look back at what I've done and where I'm going. And I suppose for the latter half of my twenties I haven't been real enthralled with my accomplishments, perhaps too often comparing myself to select peers or my own expectations and dreams. So it goes.

Still, as my mother begins the toughest of all life's journeys, I think back to the beginning, 30 years ago on a day I can't remember. I've been told the umbilical cord was wrapped around my next a bunch of times, pretty much strangling the life out from me, but fortuitously I made it. I got to be a person and indulge in all of the ups and downs that come along with it. The ups and downs are what really make life what it is; a person who eats steak once a year gets to eat a steak, while a person who eats steak everyday gets to eat a meal.

So on that day 30 years ago, Val Dowd kind of stopped being Val Dowd and instead she became Mama Dowd. It's a role she's always embraced and done her best to be the best at. I think of her sacrifices and the way she's embraced the ups and downs. The way she's always tried to make me appreciate the little things in life, like the smell of a lilac bush or a cool looking bird hanging around on the bush. All too often I brake things down to their core meaning and utility, but she's always been about the “flavor” of life, the stuff that stands out, the little things that make you slow down for a second and take it all in.

Anyways, I'm just going to write a generic astrological summary for the day that will appear in the individual scope sections. It's going to be the same for everybody. Thanks for the support and best of luck.

The Daily Horoscope for Gemini

Mercury and Neptune run opposite of each other today and this is going to put some serious strains on our mental capabilities. There can be a general disillusionment that disrupts our ability to process things in an accurate manner. The things you might perceive as “signs” might actually end up leading you off track. At the same time, you have to be careful of the things you are hearing and reading. Because we're all susceptible to this, you have to recognize when you've made a mistake and quickly tell others, and also if others have made one, you have to be quick to notify them so they can fix it as well.

In all, the energy can take our minds to some weird places, so you need to be careful you aren't making more out of small situations than is really there, and you also have to be sure you aren't neglecting the really important matters just because there isn't some huge warning sign telling you it's important. If you fail to check up on certain things, you might find that they've changed quite a bit while you haven't been looking. Stay aware and in constant pursuit of the truth and you should manage to avoid the huge pot-holes that come along with this energy.
