We’ve been here before but never here, Mercury is winding up another cycle of retrograde fervor and it’s always key at this time of a Mercury retrograde cycle that we can feel the intensity of it’s waning & closing ceremonies. Beneath the general aspects of blown light bulbs, and dysfunctional electronics, etc. (if it ain’t broke don’t fix it) …you can sense that something else is brewing, an awareness just below the surface level that calls our attention to the finer aspects of our attention we can devote to the sorting of the mishaps at our feet- What IS the message here and where can we tune our attention to that will clarify this sense of slight unease before it fades away… Yes, this energy plays itself out in such a unique and individual way that it’s different for each one of us, intense or more intensely so.

This time around, Mercury brings itself into very close proximity to Neptune, thus highlighting our need to look things in the face a little more directly- this can be felt like a clock that is in need of winding-- a sluggish and drawn out drone of rehearsal and repetition that is in need of a good tune up. The killer part here is our awareness of what’s to come based on events from the past- there is a recycling effect here where just when you think things will never move forward- they become enlivened with a fresh sense of clarity and motion, awareness that pushes everything into new ground, get ready.

Add to this a Retrograde Saturn bringing our desires close enough into hand to crush if we hold on to them too tightly and squander the opportunity for growth- yeah, it’s a classic scenario where we are totally aware of the parts, and not the whole- we simply must be willing to expand our ability to comprehend More options- again, it is the expansion of mind here that is key.

For all this intensity that has been with us for some time, we’ve arrived at a stage that reveals a very unique and strong pattern indeed. Passions are amped and we are just beginning to feel the first waves of fresh air (in the form of action and change- new pope anyone?) that will be driving factors for us for some time. The fun part (if not just the strange and incomprehensible part for us right now) is how we are introduced to the unusual, while it may be so familiar, getting a grasp on it Now can be like trying to catch a slippery fish out of water with our own bare hands- but the Key is in allowing this to be the Fun, catching a laugh and a memory that will last a lifetime…
