Weekend Summary

Challenging. Is that the word for the way the world is now? Testing the ability to endure. Yeah, I guess that covers it. So many perspectives from so many people. Each believing with all their heart that they are completely right and those who oppose them are completely wrong. In every single field. Education, medicine, religion, politics, government, ecology. The list is as endless as time. The world I grew up in, and even raised my children in, was one where we gave each other space for differences of opinion. And we remained friends. We helped each other in times of trouble. We trusted our leaders to do the right things to keep our country safe and prosperous. We knew they were only human and understood when they made mistakes. We did not vote them out of office, we just voted new people in. People who we thought had great ideas that would help us have more opportunities to make our lives better. We did not work against, we worked for. We worked. We worked to make the world better for ourselves and for our children. We never expected anyone to do it for us. We worked to provide for ourselves and for our futures. We believed in ourselves and in our country. Anybody remember Hands Across America? We formed a human chain all the way across America holding the hands of people of every race to show that we are One Country Under God. Anybody remember 9/11? Remember the nights of the candlelight vigils in parking lots everywhere? And Lee Greenwood singing, I am proud to be an American where at least I know I am free?

I am so grateful for Dan and his amazing insights, for all of you for giving us the chance to write about what is written in the stars and the Big Spirit for the promise every day that the sun will rise tomorrow and give us another chance to get it right.
