People aren't going to want to waste a whole lot of time, so if you aren't making the most of your time with others, they'll move along in search of someone else. Luckily you won't have to worry too much about this as there should be plenty of activity around to keep everyone interested and to generate conversation topics if none seem to originate inside your head.
