A pretty good indicator of maturity and wisdom is the ability to know when you should wait for something to develop, while the rookies out there get ultra-aggressive and foul things up. This isn't to say that aggression is a bad attribute to have, merely that sometimes it pays to know when to act, rather than charging ahead when you don't know what to do.

This is the nature of the shifting energy we'll deal with over the weekend. We're moving from that youthful, full-speed ahead mentality to one that wants to wait for perfect opportunities. It's about using your experience to your advantage so you only have to do things once, as opposed to fumbling your way through a bunch of mistakes until you get things right. The beauty of what's happening here is that you've already made those mistakes, and now you can bank on them to do things more efficiently.

Lastly, in terms of what will bring you closer to long-term satisfaction, you're trading in “more” for “better”. Why settle? Standing your ground allows you to sift through more options, which in turn gives you a better shot at improving on what you stand to get.
