Daily Horoscope for Sagittarius Summary
As most of you guys know, I am a fan of "the old ways, means and methods"... In today's Modern Life, sometimes words and their original meanings get twisted or distorted over time... In the olden days, the ancients used the word "Destiny" to indicate that some events would happen regardless of our own actions or efforts... Fate on the other hand, meant that certain astrological events COULD be altered by our actions... Where negative outcomes could be prevented by rising above the usual actions and responses and taking the more enlightened actions... That was the way mankind was supposed to evolve beyond our base nature.
At this current time... It is "Destined" that Mercury would go retrograde... That would happen regardless of all the "good works" or rising above that we do... However at the same time we can deal with those certain destinies and find the best courses of actions where we can gain and grow... Or to work in harmony with this energy.
One of the best stories I keep in mind during astrological transits like this (Mercury retro) is the story of Gilgamesh when he was searching for "The Fountain of Youth" or immortality... He sought out the advice from his godfather (Utu/Shamash)... Gilgamesh was told that each of us (mankind) would eventually "die"... That was our destiny... But then Utu/Shamash added... (this is the part I like)... So, while you are alive and what you do in the meantime is a "Fate" that you can change or affect, enjoy it and make the most of it...
In a way, that is what Astrology gives to me... An insight into how I can enrich my life experience by finding the actions that can affect my life in more enjoyable ways... It helps us to have patience when we encounter situations that are beyond our ability to control... But it also inspires us to stand tall and take action when we encounter opportunities.
That is what Gilgamesh did... He couldn't be immortal, so he filled his allotted time with life, love, adventures, challenges, triumphs, failures and on and on... We only get so many days to be alive Moon-doggies... Not enough to waste any of them... Or to let minor aggravations darken our spirit, mood or attitude... Trackin' with me on this... Mercury retrograde is there to remind us of the lessons and wisdom of the past.
