Daily Horoscope for Sagittarius Summary

In the internet era, hyperbole has reigned as king and words don't mean what they used to. The impact of a lot of words has been watered down. There's some rebound in some of the newer youth slang out there (big thumbs up to "mid"), but most of the people my age and older have been existing for the last 20-25 years in a social world where you have to shout to extremes for attention, in the scant hopes you're heard over everyone else.

At the same time, we are chicken (metaphorically). We take on the flavor of whatever we're marinating in. If all of the media you consume has a certain flavor, you start to reflect that flavor. If you started predisposed to that flavor, you emphasize it even more the longer you're immersed. And also like chicken, it's hard to change the flavor if you botched it.

We're in an election year. Rhetoric is charged. People want to make hyperbolic claims about "preserving democracy" and "we must defeat the other candidate". I'm getting old. I don't want to defeat someone on the other team. I just want politicians who want to defeat the damn potholes in the street, and who want to defeat $20 "mid" hamburgers and defeat the social problems that come with things like homeless encampments and unchecked immigration.

We're all stewing in a pot of discontent. The social media era has magnified this - it didn't invent it, but it's strengthened its reach. Our current chart is one where that discontent can boil over, into our words and into our actions as well. This is going to linger a little while. Some people might be out there banging the drum of revolution. The democrats don't think Biden can win. Trump supporters are out there saying he's touched by the hand of God. Centrists think the whole country lost its damn mind (and it has). That's the marinade we're swimming in. Be the spice that changes the flavor to something better. Defeat problems, not people. Best of luck.

The Daily Horoscope for Sagittarius

You can overly fixate on "the right way" when it comes to how things are done. Realistically, more methodologies have some level of flexibility to them, however minor. There can be instances where your insistence that things be done a certain way exposes the fact that you're not as much of an expert on something as you say you are; experts generally know multiple means to a given end. So if someone comes along and says they know a better way, at least entertain it. If you're truly knowledgeable in a field, you'll know when things are headed off the rails early on.

Daily Tao

If one wishes to shrink it
One must first expand it
If one wishes to weaken it
One must first strengthen it
If one wishes to discard it
One must first promote it
If one wishes to seize it
One must first give it
