Daily Horoscope for Taurus Summary

Yes, yesterday was WeeklyHoroscope.com's 17th Birthday...

I don't think I ever told you this story before... so here ya go...

Think about it... Back in '96, hardly anyone on the planet knew anything about this thing called "internet"... Even though I had grown up in the trucking/transportation business... I always was interested in computers... Especially when I realized they could cast a natal horoscope chart in seconds when it used to take hours having to do all the math & calculations by hand... My brother was working on his PH'd in engineering at the university, and used to give me his old computers... I basically taught myself how to program & use them... Mostly to make casting horoscope charts easier.

In a very strange time of my life that was loaded with tons of changes... (sorta like the world is seeing now)... Through a bizarre chain of events I went to work for the first internet company here in the Land of Buff... (buffalo, ny)... My friend Sharon started working there, and one day I was there to go out to lunch with her, and somehow got talking to the owner and agreed to go to work there too.

Sharon is awesome & hilariously funny... I'd have to say in the top 10 people on the planet!!... hehe... Anyway, it didn't take long before all the guys there (mostly college kids) learned that Sharon was an amazing psychic and that I did horoscopes... So everyday, they'd ask me "Hey Dan, what's going on in the Stars"... And I'd have to repeat the same thing to each person throughout the day... So it occured to me... We were an internet company... I would program a webpage where I could just write the horoscope down and they could read it for themselves and I could concentrate on doing what I had to do... I called the page "Hey Baby, What's your Sign"... hehe...

Writing the 'scopes was fun to do... And it was only once a week... Sharon and I were talking about it at the office one day... And she made the joke and said... "If it's only once a week, he better be well endowed"... We looked at each other and laughed our asses off... From then on, the name became daniel "whelland" dowd...

I was really starting to catch on and learn a lot about the internet & programming... And somehow, many visitors were finding their way to my webpage... (mostly through Yahoo because Google wasn't even around back then)... One of the interns working there suggested I buy a "domain name"... So I bought WeeklyHoroscope.com on this day seventeen years ago... I don't really remember the day when I actually started writing the 'scopes... (think it was in the spring of '96)... Whatever... And very shortly after buying the domain name... The company went out of business... (fate & destiny served it's purpose)... So I moved the website to another server and it's been running ever since!!... It was all a bizarre chain of events that could never have been planned or even envisioned... It just happened... hehe...

The point of this Story...
Some of the greatest and most personally rewarding things that happen to us often happen in the most unexpected ways... Yeah, I could have remained "rigid" and refused to leave the trucking industry... After all, I was really good at it and was on the Board of Directors for one of the bigger industry associations at the time... Sometimes "lightning strikes" and you have to follow your gut instincts so there are no regrets later on in life when you find yourself saying the classic "what if _____".

With the Grand Cross up there in the Big Sky... The conditions for incredible changes and personal transformations are all over the place... I hope you can find the magic too...

It's all about knowing what you want today and not "settling" for less than what you want & deserve...
