Here, Let me give you a hand with that...
Most of the things we (human-beans) make so important, are actually rather meaningless when you look at them through the lens of time... We look back at all the "Empires" that have risen and fallen over time... The Sumerian, The Roman... The Greek... The Egyptian... (blah blah blah)... and for the most part, they're just chapters in books that most people will never read about, study learn or care about.
I went to visit my Mom at the Nursing Home a couple of days ago... Her Dementia is pretty severe these days... She seems to have no real memory of the past... Every now & then she'll ask me about "her Danny" or another one of my brothers or sisters... She's looking at me and seeing some old lookin' guy, but in her mind she's looking for the little kids that would be running through our house... And then looking around the room, I'm seeing all the other patients that are/were the most important people in the lives of others too!
It's easy to get caught up in our own world of daily tasks, duties and routines that we lose touch with what really matters... Some day, there will be others who look back at our current moment of time too... I wonder what their opinions will be, and who will be the ones that really made a difference... Yeah, there may be some kings who are remembered, and a few Mozart's and Einsteins too... But it's really all about us "regular guys" who had the potential to be the ones who really made a difference in the lives of others.
While at the Nursing Home, across the room there was a guy who's nose was dripping... He had this long gel of snot hanging (looked pretty disgusting) and for a moment I caught his eyes and it was clear that it was heart-breaking to him that he couldn't wipe it away... As I was getting up, a woman got there first and said "Here, Let me give you a hand with that" as she wiped it away matter of factly... And the look on his face was priceless with thanks and appreciation.
The world will do what the world will do... But each day, like today... We can be the ones that really make the world a better place just by treating those we encounter better... To be the ones that are awake and "alive inside" enough to be more aware of the conditions and circumstances of others... That's it for right now... I'll talk to you guys later...
