People will tend to get more agitated when they feel as though they have something to protect, and you might have to deal with some aggression from people who are afraid of losing something important to them. So with that in mind, you want to tread carefully. You might need to keep your own defenses up as well, though you shouldn't go out there trying to initiate conflict unless there's something immediate you find threatening.
